Quicklooks for period following
the Eyjafjallajokull eruption (Updated
26-4-2010)
The
layer between 8-10km is a cirrus. The elevated aerosol layer up to 5km
originates from Sahara. No volcanic ash observed.
Low
clouds present. In between some layers were visible up to 3km originating
from Sahara
No volcanic
ash observed. Measurements interrupted due to low clouds and strong winds.
The
layer between 3-4km should be volcanic ash, as well as the one around 6km.
In-between at 4km there was a visible thin cloud affecting the
measurements. The layer at 8-10km should be a cirrus cloud.
The
layer at between 2-3km should be volcanic ash and is descending into the
PBL, while a new one is appearing at 3km after 13:00 UT
There
is a cloud at 4km but below that we can still observe an aerosol layer at
3km.
Occasional
clouds at 4km. The possible volcanic layer at 2-3km still persists. Desert dust also predicted for this day
